The Delhi book fair has been taking place from 29 Aug 2015 – 6 September 2015. The fair offers an array of products by some of the leading Delhi based publishers such as MBD, Pustak Mahal and National Book Trust.
The fair has attracted over 215 education based companies and publications. On our visit, we came across some of the publishers who explained to us the changing trends in publishing scenario.
Grolier is a home based learning system for young learners (age group 2-7). Their products are designed to kindle the joy of learning at home. If you have toddlers at your place, we recommend you to visit the stall and engage yourself with a free demo of their learning aids at their stall. Grolier offers digital and non digital learning aids which can be used for both individual and collaborative learning.
The wide variety of books at this stall will surely make you stop and give a glance to their unique titles. Vishv books present to you creatively crafted books keeping in mind the core life-skills laid by the WHO. These books can induce an urge to know more in young children . The books that really got us stuck are wordless books from ‘Read N Grow ‘series for the age group 2-5, ‘I am unique series’ and pop up books. If you visit this stall, don’t miss to go through their monthly children’s magazine ‘highlight’.
Kindle, as you might know is an e- reader that allows you to carry almost 1100 books in a 6 inch screen size. Easy to operate functions and portability makes it one of the most sort after gadgets amongst book lovers. Some of its key features include touchscreen , connection via 3g and wifi, cloud storage, customization of font and text size and built in dictionary. You can have a look at the three models -Kindle, Kindle paper white and Kindle voyage are available for the visitors at Kindle stall.
MBD’s Nytra aims to take learning to the next level. This is an augmented learning app that pairs with their science book series for classes eleventh and twelfth. This app brings the concepts alive on mobile devices via augmented learning. The Nytra app can be downloaded from the app store to scan the images from the book and see them come alive. Goyal Foreign Books
The stall draws your attention with a colorful display of flags from different nationalities. As you go inside the stall, you see books in different languages stacked on the ranks. Walk inside the store to take a look at books in Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Russian, Korean, Arabic, Portuguese and Polish. The textbooks come with grammar notes, CD’s and workbook. You will also find dictionaries and grammar books, but we got intrigued by their self study packs. These self study packs can help all those who wish to learn a foreign language at their own accord.
The fair caters to people from all walks of life to promote reading habits by offering a panorama of books, journals, periodicals, teaching and learning aids and computer software.
