Mahou San Miquel, a Spanish brewing major which acquired Arian Distilleries and Breweries last year, has finally made inroads to Delhi with its Mahou Clasica beer. The Clasica is a premium lager beer which comes in fruity flavors. It is the same beer that has made Mahou the leading beer brand of Spain. The light golden beer should be an ideal choice for those who generally skip beer for its rancid taste.
Clasica has a crystalline aspect and a faint, elegant malt aroma. It is a drink with a well-integrated bitter finish and very light balsamic hints, brewed for those who want a smooth, easy to drink beer.
Erik d’Auchamp, Chief Executive Officer, Mahou India, stated at the launch, “We are delighted to bring the cult beer with a classic Mahou taste through Mahou Clásica to Delhi. Mahou Clásica is perfectly balanced with its characteristics that are highly inspired by the rich Spanish flavor, which is going to be an enchanting experience for the beer enthusiasts.
Beer consumption patterns have undergone a change in India and with it the tastes and preferences. Though we are new to the market, our observation is that Delhi consumers are receptive to international brands and are willing to pay for high-quality experiences.”
Mahou has launched three different beers in India – the Mahou Clasica, 5 Star and Dare Devil. While the Clasica and Mahou 5 Star are premium beers, the Dare Devil is a semi-premium beer, consistent to the variety of drinkers out here.
Mahou Clásica, 5 Star and Dare Devil are being brewed in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan with plans to venture into more states soon. The Mahou 5 Star and Dare Devil are now available to consumers across nine states in India while the Mahou Clásica is present in 4 states so far.
