Traffic from mobile apps has grown 250-300% year- on-year in the past couple of years. Unique visitors from mobile apps stood at 20% in 2013, 33% in 2014, and will soon reach the half-way mark. The number of hotel transactions through mobile is already at par with desktop-transactions. There is a tremendous opportunity for customer engagement and brand building using this platform.”
Elaborating on the recent app enhancements, Anshuman Bapna, Chief Product Officer, MakeMyTrip.com said, “Technology–based innovations form the core of our pursuit of making travel-buying and post-purchase experience enjoyable and seamless. To this end, our new product enhancements and features are being developed with a ‘mobile-first’ approach. There are services and product enhancements that render better to the mobile platform and we intend to be at the forefront of such innovations. Features like an App referral program through which a user can earn up to Rs. 10,000 in the MakeMyTrip wallet, option to browse and choose hotels using map view and other add-ons are now available on the new version of our Android app.”
MakeMyTrip claims that it is working on making the app more interactive for consumers.
