Gaudy wedding couture is slowly going out of fashion. If you are one of those people who don’t like looking like a Christmas tree in the wedding season, read on about Mitti Collection by Abhishek Sharma.
If you are looking forward to something that’s not glittery but yet with all the intricacies and details that a wedding couture is supposed to have then Abhishek Sharma’s collection offers something different.
The Mitti Collection
‘Mitti‘ has modernised age old technique of henna painting. It supports the fusion of this art on some of the most contemporary styles and drapes.
This collection’s USP lies in being subtly rugged, no accessories, rustic fabrics and its drapes.
The vision behind Mitti
Abhishek’s collection comes in cooler and softer with warm tones taking cues from nature. According to Abhishek, “This collection is an ode to nostalgia and a deep connect to everything immersive, things that we hold so close to our heart, those in the garb of our outlandish high paced lives, we forget to feel their presence.”
Fabrics used in the collection
The collection uses traditional fabrics such as handloom cotton, chandheri and moss crepe with a modern silhouettes and drapes that sketch the contemporary story of structured jackets, flowy dresses and chic sarees and shoes for men.
While this collection is best suited for dinner and cocktail parties, we will strongly recommend it to the brides to be as we can’t think of anything better for Mehndi and Sangeet.
There is something different about the Mitti collection and thankfully, it doesn’t copy the same old techniques and brings new perspectives into designing. People shell out a lot on wedding couture, and when you do that, you don’t want to end up looking like everyone else. That’s what Mitti brings to the table and that’s why it is something worth a dekko.
