Delhi is bursting at is seams with places to eat. You are literally spoiled for places to eat and drink. If you are looking for placing that offer more than the usual, head to Bronies.
Bronies is located under the Defence Colony Flyover. It has replaced the legendary old Nirula’s restaurant. The unusual name means people who are bored out of their wits and want to relax and chill.
We were there for a food meet organised by Delhi Foodies Insta Meet (DFIM).
Capacity and Ambience
Bronies is designed to provide a grunge feel and yet, offer you the option to dine the way you want to. It has a 1st floor which is complete with sarcastic slogans and cinema lights. It has the models of helicopters and cars hanging from the roof. Along with that, they have the yellow LED lights hanging from the roof, which has become the feature of every chic restaurant out there.
Downstairs there is an open bar where you can grab a drink on the weekends.
The place accommodates 50-60 people.
When to visit
Bronies is open from 11 am – 1 Am on weekends while happy hours are from 11 AM – 9 PM.
Service and Menu
We were served specific dishes from the reviewer’s menu. Our review of the menu is kind of mixed. Some dishes shone out, while just like at any other place, other dishes did not do well. The service could be a little faster.
Bronies takes pride in not just its menu, but also the way it serves its food. There were many ways of serving food and all were amusing.
The drinks and dessert were served chilled, but with a difference. They were chilled using liquid nitrogen. This is something we appreciated. Rather than ruin the flavour of food by putting actual nitrogen in it, they have kept the food chilled by surrounding food with it.
They also provide you with a Do-it-yourself (DIY) grill. You get a platter of food along with sauces. You can grill this food according to your liking and also entertain your guests.
Not just that, they also served food in the form of sizzlers. Whether it is Potato in Kung Pao Nuts or Thai Red Curry with rice, everything was served on the sizzler plate.
They also serve Brinjal Fries with burgers, which tasted great.
But, the best part of our meal was the dessert. Baked Alaska is a meringue which contains ice cream inside and is served surrounded by nitrogen.
The Chocolate Mud Cake was the good blend of chocolate. They also served a Chocolate Eclair with Ice Cream, which was simply delicious.
Overall, dining at Bronies is a good experience. If you plan an evening out, around sunset would be a good time to visit.
